Framing Complete

Our invoice for frame completion was in our mailbox before we found out from our SS. We've asked to see PD's own inspection report but are still waiting on it. So we're a little unsure as how invoices can be released before the inspection report is.

We had our own private inspection carried out today. We'll find out tomorrow what changes, if any, are needed.

Here are some photos ...

Ground Floor Framing In

It looks like the framing for the ground floor is all in.

The master bedroom.

Looking towards the front door. This will only get smaller once the stairs go in.

The Study

We're really not sure why the steel is only needed on the right side at the bottom of the void.

These were the parts I was most interested in. Are the waster pipes in the right place? This was the tightest one, in theory, but it seems to have enough clearance around it ... just.

This one should have been easier to fit as their was more tolerance, but it looks a little too tight for my liking. It should be in the middle of the two planks on the ground. We'll confirm with the SS.

Frame Start ... almost

For reasons we still don't quite understand, we've had over 5 weeks of zero activity since our slab went down. PD have said it's due to weather (hmmm) and wanting to wait for 'the right framing team' to be available. Although when I asked them if that means they have right and wrong framing teams, there was no answer.

I suspect they knew full well that no framing team was going to be available but the sooner the slab goes down, the sooner they get their first big payment.

We've also had a change in Site Supervisor. We never even met the other one before he was gone. The new SS appears to be well organised and detailed. So long may that continue.

Here are some pictures of the framing materials delivered and ready for framing to start this week.
